I've been practicing with curling irons because I'm 22 and I still don't know how to use one. My older brother is getting married soon and I would like to have some crazy sexy hair going on with my bridesmaid dress so I figured I'd start experimenting early on. Lotssss of cute stuff came in yesterday! Taco, cake and french fry pouches, The kawaii talking Japanese watches in all colors and the most adorable bag inspired by a composition notebook. And the preppin' for Sunday's event begins! Tonight I've been keeping myself busy by making price tags for the clothing Monikapolitan.com will have for sale at Sunday's event. I will have 1 of each piece on display and the rest will be packaged under my table so customers get a new and freshly packaged item. This also beats having to make 100 price tags which means I have a lot more time in making them as cute as possible! I love recycling and figuring out cost effective ways to own a business. I thought I'de share with you guys on how I made my price tags using recycled goods, cute paper and glue...

I bought a heart puncher for $11 and cute paper for 29 cents at Hobby Lobby.

Punched out hearts using old cereal boxes and the cute paper ;)

Then I glued the pretty heart papers to the graphic side of the cereal box hearts

Taa-dahh! Thick, pretty tags for under 30 cents ;)

I wrote the prices on the plain side with a pen. You can also use a stamp ;)

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I can't believe this weekend is ACL (Austin City Limits.) Unfortunately I won't be attending however I think I might make a one day appearance in Austin this Thursday ;) This week begins the prepping for Sunday and if you are in the McAllen/Pharr area I hope to see you! Christmas is coming early!

I know it may seem too early but we all know how crazy Christmas time is so I decided to plan ahead and am already stalking up the store with potential gift items! I've been buying non-stop and will continue to do so all this month in order to give you all the chance to shop early! Last year (when I had the measley old smaller site) a lot of the items at Monikapolitan sold out weeks before Christmas so this year, I'm going to try my best to keep items in stock and at the same time keep adding fresh NEW items weekly! I've added the Talking Japanese Watches in EVERY COLOR (except for grey,) re-stocked the cake pouch and ring and even brought in some new items like the compostion duffle bag and Breakfast at Tiffany's inspired Sleep Mask! FALL in love

Last night was spent at a show and then we stopped downtown to have 1 drink and check out the grand opening of Lumens. You can see pictures on Gabriel Castle or Aberazzi's blog. I'm not a fan of crowded bars so the whole enviroment just didn't cut it for me but with less people and an intimate feel I'm sure it would hit the spot! The bar area and the wood detail is definitely something new and creative for McAllen. Moving on to what's in store... How divine is this new dress coming to Monikapolitan.com?! It's so Fall and I personally can't wait to get a piece for myself! They are on sale at Monikapolitan.com for Pre-Order and set to arrive at the beginning of October.

3 seasons later and I'm BARELY starting on the Gossip Girl infatuation. I was too hung up on Seth Cohen on the OC to get into any other shows but being that Gossip Girl is by the same writer as the OC, I finally gave in and purchased the first season online! I'm already on season 2 and like every other girl, I can't get over how cute & elegant Blair Waldorf dresses. A lot of the Victorian inspired fashion reminds me of some items featured at Monikapolitan so I decided to put together a little Blair inspiration collage. Party hoppin

This weekend felt like it was 239484 hours long. Me and Gabriel Castle went party hoppin on Friday, ran into a few weird people, sometimes a few cool people and luckily I survived the looong night however, I did catch a little sore throat/cold/flu? ...well, whatever it is it sucks and it's taking over my fragile body. I wore the lace bodysuit from AA and since my butt is so big I think when I was putting it on it ripped a little at the bottom... You know that was a joke right? I'm less than 100 pounds, I don't really think I have a big butt. Point is, I do highly recommend the lace bodysuit just be careful and gentle when putting on. As always on Sundays, I added some new items to the Pre-Order section at Monikapolitan.com! Order yours to get them in time for fall.
