Team Jacward Burton

Everybody is fussy over New Moon. I couldn't decide between team Edward or Jacob so I became team Jacward, you know? I just recently saw Twilight a few weeks ago for the first time and OK, OK... I'm in love with the characters as is everyone else but, I'm more in love with the Tim Burton photoshoot in Harper Bazar's October issue. This guy is on a whole different planet & has been even before Lady Gaga got all the credit but I will say, her new "bad romance" video is epic...

I got married, NOT.

[*EDIT- I got several emails, comments & texts asking where I got my shoes in this post. You can get them>>> here (only a few in size 7 left, but you can get them in the faux leather style in almost every size!)]
My future sister in law's bridal shower was this past Saturday. We played this really fun game where the future bride hides while we get into groups. I got chosen as the "model" while the rest of my group members were the designers. They had to design a bridal gown for me out of tissue paper and then we had a runway show where the future bride picks her favorite "bridal gown." WE WON! My cousins worked that dress and made tissue paper look couture! After the bridal shower I went to a friends wedding, it was huge, beautiful, at a ranch with an open bar... enough said.

IDEA Academy Fashion Show

I got the privilege of sitting front row at the IDEA Academy fashion show that they had this past Friday. I got to meet Daniel from IDEA who was in charge of organizing the whole show and had been since July. Everything down to the fancy desserts was so organized and entertaining. Thanks to Joey for contacting me about the show and to Daniel and others who put this together and inviting me. It was definitely a pleasure being there...

NEW Peaked Shoulder Blazers inspired by Balmain

I went half insane when I saw the BALMAIN (READY-TO-WEAR FALL 09) Fashion show images! All the dresses, blouses and blazers with those very sexy, structured and defined shoulders are exactly what I need in my life! I was already working on trying my own "DIY" version until I started browsing through my weekly routine of fashion blogs and saw a few of my favorite fashionistas with the ZARA replica! I'm not too sure how much they run for at ZARA (unfortunately they don't have an online shop & the closest is in Austin, TX) but I'm assuming they run for a couple hundred dollars? I desperately starting looking online and found some other replicas for $175 and coincidently as I was re-ordering some products for the Monikapolitan inventory, I ran into some peaked shoulder blazers that are simple, affordable and totally inspired by Balmain! I absolutely can't wait to receive these and will definitely be keeping one for myself! The Peaked Shoulder Blazer arrives at Monikapolitan around November 23rd but you can Pre-Order yours now for $38

You're weird

This was my weekend. The Art Walk was very successful (finacially) but unsuccessful (physically.) I thought I could do it once more but realized Monikapolitan.com has become too much of a little monster to put aside & neglect for a few days. Hand-making items takes up more time than before & as much as I love meeting new people, I just don't have a week to spare making items that people will only spend $5 on, especially around these Holidays! My dad annoyed and reminded me everyday to prepare for Christmas shoppers & I'm not sure if this is it, but it sure does feel like it! I'm happy for each and every order I receive daily and as a "THANK YOU" I am giving FREE Christmas Goodie Packs with each and every order ;) Each goodie pack includes: A mini Christmas coloring book, matching crayons, limited edition Monikpolitan Christmas pin & mini card with a discount code on the back! I enjoyed meeting everyone at the Art Walk, you young kids are so appreciative of creativity and maybe when I hire some help I will be able to continue selling... or something. Oversized bows, cupcake/bunny headbands and bear cases are coming to Monikapolitan soon! I found that it was much more fun taking pictures of peoples feet and am thinking about doing it more often. So enjoy...
