I feel like I haven't done a "recent purchases" post in a while so I thought I'd make up for lost time and share some of my favorite items that I picked up while visiting Austin, TX a couple of weeks ago. On that trip, I discovered Forever 21's kids section and lots of florals... my fav! Also, I've gotten about 6-8 questions about my floral romper (pictured below and seen in the Austin Day 3 & 4 video.) You guys want to know where I got it and my answer to that is: I really don't know! My bff Liz gave it too me on 4th of July and I instantly fell in love! I'm not 100% sure where it is from however, I'm pretty sure she said something about Urban Outfitters so I hope that helps a little. I've been working on orders all evening and night which means I am totally ready for bed! It's Snackie Time!

I hope everyone had a wild and fun weekend! I spent mine making wine spritzers, enjoying my friends and oh, how could i forget!? Midnight Snackz is back! For those of you who don't remember, Midnight Snackz is a life inspired clothing brand that Gabriel Castle and I started a few months ago. We had planned to release our 2nd small collection by June, but had some small delays with the printing process and had to drag it out a bit. We received our pieces this weekend and made some time to go downtown McAllen for a small photoshoot and video preview of the collection! Zaronikapolitan

As promised, here is a behind the scenes video from the latest Mobile Monikapolitan- "Boutique to go" concert event! This event was extra special because it was the first we did with my new camera and it gives me the chance to finally show you a little peek at how fun it is doing these sort of events and all the fun people we meet along the way! The rest are photos from a wild and crazy party Zar hosted this past weekend. It was probably one of the best Zartys I've been to in a while and I'm pretty sure everyone else had a good time as well. Oh, and I also adopted his dog Petey Kingston and re-named him Sir Peter Kingston II. He is such a sweet little thing and I love him so much already! Today I took him to get a bath and some grooming, he had knots all over his body so he is nice and shaven now. I'll put up a picture of that laterz...

Austin Mess

So, we are back from Austin with the last 2 videos of the trip! The first video is from Monday where we did a little shopping, hit up happy hour and saw DJ Mel at Nastys. On Tuesday, while waiting for 8pm and Jamie Cullum to roll around, we did a little more shopping at the Domain then had a superb pre dinner at a Thai food place called Madam Mam's (They have THE BEST Thai Tea!) Unfortunately Stubb's didn't allow our fancy camera in past the gates once we arrived, so we didn't get any footage of the amazing Jamie, but we did get some good times at Beauty Bar and Barbarella's Tuesgay event. I've been meaning to post this up sooner but we had an event to prep for as soon as we got back. Right now I am dying my hair and helping Gabriel edit some clips! Video footage & interviews from Thursdays Dontgetemo and Mobile Monikapolitan event will be up very soon! I hope you guys are enjoying these videos, I know my faces are weird & creepy on some parts but just bare with me haha...

"I'm in Boston, TX, not Austin"

I'm in Austin, TX! It's been far too long since the last time I visited and it feels like a breath of fresh, crisp air. Last night we arrived late, hit the streets of downtown and stopped at a few bars. Later we met up with some friends for Dee's 21st birthday and we watched her get splashed in the face with water as a birthday gift! Today we did a tiny bit of shopping at Urban Outfitters and then went to have some drinks, calamari and $2.95 hamburger combos at McCormick & Schmicks happy hour. Tonight we are going to see DJ Mel at Nasty's and tomorrow we see Jamie Cullum in concert... EXCITING! Here are some pictures from the evening and some video footage of last night...

T2i-love it

So I got my new Canon T2i in and I can't control my hands. All I want to do is take pictures but what I really want to do is take VIDEOOO! Gabriel and I have been playing around with the HD video feature for the past couple of days and we made a little video of me gettin' some cash for my coins. For those of you who don't already know: I like to make up weird little rhymes any chance I get... the video below contains a teeny tiny example and I hope none of you get offended with my language... it's all fun and games and part of my alter ego, Moniqua. Adventures of the disposable camera

I'm listening to Elton John while I look through my newly developed film... I love disposable cameras so much! It's exciting not knowing how the pictures will turn out or trying to remember what pictures you even took on the camera for that matter. Below are some of my adventures that the disposable camera witnessed within the last couple of weeks which consists of: Kitties, pool parties, new outfits, 4th of July at South Padre Island, cake and a 4th of July party in McAllen...

I hope everyone had a fun, festive 4th of July and took advantage of the Monikapolitan.com sale! I spent my holiday as usual, at the beach with family and friends. However, this year my best friends Liz and Albert invited Gabriel and I to join them at her aunts condo in the Sapphire. My cousin Diane and her boyfriend Javi were there too. Liz, Diane and I share some of the best moments in the history of my life and it had been about a year since we all hung out together so... I'm sure you can only imagine the sort of stuff we got ourselves into. We got wrist bands that pretty much gave us access to anything and everything around the Sapphire and Sheraton Hotels, we snuck into every single pool after hours, found a giant frog shaped slide, played slap the bag and chicken fights in the water, danced on the beach, listened to Alberts ridiculous and halarious stories and recovered the next day at Wanna Wanna with bloody marys and oysters. I think people tend to forget about the good moments they share with others and only focus on the bad, so I promised myself that I will never forget this moment shared with some of the best people i know...
