Monkeypolitan

Yesterday was the Outdoor Market event at Roosevelt's and it was seriously ONE of my favorite events up to date. Everyone that walked in was so supportive, friendly and encouraging. I gave out 24 free red velvet brownies and damn were they delicious! There were some people who had no clue on what was going on and why a big shiny trailer was parked in the parking lot. Like this one man who was reading my logo out loud to his wife and called it "Monkeypolitan..." my mom and I couldn't stop laughing when he left. At some points there was even a line to walk in the Monikapolitan Mobile Boutique! Even if you didn't buy anything, you guys have no idea how happy it made me that so many of you stopped by to browse or say hi. This weekend was a busy one and it's about to get even busier because in 5 hours CYBER MONDAY begins! I will be sending a newsletter to each customer who is signed up to our newsletter or has an account at Monikapolitan.com so be expecting that soon! Crazy crazy deals will be happening all day and this will be Monikapolitan's BIGGEST sale ever. You don't want to miss out. PS- the dress I was wearing at the event was one of my Monikapolitan favorites, I kept the last one but I will try to get more soon...

Crunch Time

Again, it's really late (or early) and I can't stop myself from adding Vintage items to the store. Look at those cute little kittens on the photo album, how could I resist?! About 5 Vintage items have been added to the store and I'm still nowhere near done. All the vintage clothing and accessories I added last week SOLD, thanks to everyone who purchased, it was very exciting and I can't wait till you see the rest! I'm not sure if I'm going to put up all of the items or if I'm going to save a few pieces for the Mobile Monikapolitan event happening this Saturday. I tried to upload the Q&A video blog that I promised on Tumblr but I'm having technical difficulties with my video editor so it may take a couple of extra days. I have a lot to get done today, tomorrow, this week and this month, so I'm hoping earth or whoever is in charge magically sends me some extra time. I have so many ideas popping up in my brain and not enough hands to accomplish them. It's all very exciting and I hope to share my final brain pieces with you guys once they are complete. Below are some of the latest added items and a small photo diary of the rest of my weekend in Austin with Matthew, including: Thrift shopping, Trudy's Mexican Martinis and an olive overload, my new bear mittens, my apple head chihuahua Mocha, and crazy after hours. Do you guys like seeing my photo diaries or should I switch it up?

Sanrio's pop-up shop tour

Heaven! Sanrio's 50th Anniversary tour in Austin, TX was the best thing I've witnessed in months! We didn't eat before arriving, waited in line for 3 1/2 hours, found out we were 54th in line, then found out that the first 50 in line got a free gift anddd I spent over $100 on things I probably will never use but gee oh gee was it worth it! I really don't know what else to say, the photos will speak for themselves... be prepared for a color and character overload. I got some video footage of the event as well as some other pictures from our weekend in Austin that I will put up soon. PS- new vintage items will be added to Monikapolitan and eBay around midnight tomorrow... i'll give you some clues of my favorite finds: 70's floral lamps, ankle boots and a Christian Dior blazer.

78 oz's

OMG you guys, not only was today one of the best Monikapolitan days EVER, but in a few hours I leave to Austin for Sanrio's Small Gift Mobile Pop-Up Shop Tour!!! Yes, it's exactly what it sounds like... a bus filled with pink, kitties, furry things and limited 50th anniversary Sanrio things. I'm really excited to do some Christmas shopping, get inspired and maybe some ideas from all of this. I will make sure to take plenty of pictures and maybe get some video footage of the chaos but I still can't decide on whether I want to dress up or not? Hmmm. It's 5:40am and I need to find some time to sleep in between here and there. I've been doing orders since 12am, just finished and I'm guessing my Hello Kitty adrenaline rush helped me push through this blog. The Channeling COCO No. 9 Hoodies arrived today and you better believe I put mine on as soon as I opened the box. If you ordered yours before Sunday, your package will ship this morning. They are currently sold out but more are on the way so you can pre-order yours if you'd like. Another great thing that happened yesterday, was the return of Midnight Snackz! It's been a while but The Johnny Mustache and Snack On This Chanel Pullover Sweaters are finally making a come back! Right now they are in the process of being made and should arrive mid December. I was beyond relieved with the amount of pre-orders that were sold today for those two designs alone. You guys really made my day and inspired me to start working on new designs. Expect those soon...

Vintage Film and Items

I still haven't completed adding all the items from my recent vintage batch but I've been gradually getting there. Last night I added a few more vintage pieces to Monikapolitan.com as well as some animal hooded scarves and hats... so cutie! Several items ended on the Monikapolitan eBay today, including the vintage beanies, limited Channeling Chanel Shirt and the Vampires are Forever Tank by Midnight Snackz (which by the way sold for $12, SUPER DEALLL!) The Vintage Pastel Dancing Pandas Sweater and the Hand-knitted Shoulder Rose Sweater are still up for bids, super one-of-a-kind and ending soon! Below are some of the recent vintage pieces I added and a few film pictures that we just got developed. All were taken with a HOLGA film camera and are unedited. The first picture is probably the BEST thing about a Holga camera. It's called "double exposure" and it's a 2 in 1 picture, but I completely forgot how we made that happen. Hmmm.

Wuzz Happening

Today is my pup Petey's 1st birthday! Last night, at midnight, we sang him "Happy Birthday," blew bubbles and gave him a little birthday treat. I also made him his own customized birthday hat! This ball of fluff lights up my life with every lick and paw and I'm so glad I have him. Tomorrow I'm buying him doggie birthday treats and a fancy name tag... I probably shouldn't have kids. There are a couple of events coming up during the Thanksgiving weekend. November 24th Acrylick, an amazing and genuine clothing brand based out of LA is having their release party at Volta then, on the 27th is the outdoor market event at Roosevelt's! Mobile Monikapolitan, "The Boutique to go" will be there and the Holidays are creeping up on us so I'm pretty darn excited. I still can't get over how funny the bottom left picture of Petey is...
