This must be it

I know everyone says this but... I can't believe it's going to be a new year already!! I don't know where 2010 went but I'm kind of glad it's done and over with. Everyone tries to make all these New Years Resolutions and a lot of us think just because it's a "new year," your past life will vanish and a fresh new life will arrive... but come on. When it all comes down to it, you make your own life. Most times, you can decide what you want your life to be like and I encourage everyone to make changes in order to have your fresh new life for 2011. Get rid of your boring job and take a risk to full fill your dream job, don't stay with your jealous significant other just because you are scared to be alone, get rid of your greedy friends who really don't care to see you happy... who cares if you have no friends after, you can make new ones. I don't know what I want to change or get rid of for the new year just yet, I do have a few small changes I'd like to make but I'm pretty sure I got rid of everything I needed to in 2010. My 2011 goal is to keep it that way and focus more on my business and clothing brand. Thanks to you guys, Monikapolitan.com grows more and more every year so 2011 must be bigger! A Christmas Diary

This Christmas was perfect and I am super grateful to have such an awesome and festive family. We are very traditional when it comes to the Holidays which is probably my most favorite part. About 50 of us celebrate Christmas Eve at my Grandpa's house with lots of food, alcohol, music and a game of White Elephant, then on Christmas Day it's my parents house with more food, even moreee alcohol, Christmas music, movies and this year... Mexican Bingo! The pot went up to $17, it was intense and I totally lost. Below are some photos of my Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Thursday's Annual Holidaze party hosted by Outwithme. This was probably one of my most memorable Christmas' yet. I wish everyone the best and hope your Holiday was spent with genuine people. Birthday Robbery

Friday was Matt and I's BIRTHDDDAAY! We have the same birthday, December 17th... still sort of creeps me out sometimes. Thursday night I studied until 5:30am with Gabriel (which was a reeaally bad idea.) I finished my last final at 12pm and continued my day with an hour of sleep. Matthew and I had a birthday dinner at PF Changs and then went to buy some decorations, candy and candy bags for an ugly Christmas sweater party that my family was throwing for us. Later we went to the thrift store to buy some really ugly Christmas sweaters (which was also a really bad idea) because when we came out of the store and got in his truck, we realized that we were ROBBED!!!! Someone took his iPod, wallet, money, jacket and all of our decorations and candy ;( It was really sad, I cried but then we eventually got over it and had a fabulous party. My friend Evy (4th photo down) came to the rescue and brought us candy bags with hot cocoa included, such a sweetie... I wanted to cry, again! So many of our friends and family showed up. I couldn't have asked for anything more...

Money honey

Sometimes, when I feel like I deserve it, I splurge and pay myself back for my 4am late night packaging, lack of sleep and work. It's been a while since I've shared my recent purchases so I put together a little collage of some of the recent purchases I've made to fill up my closet. I found the cutest floral shoes at Forever21 and we all know my sick addiction with florals so that was a given. I also found some brown boots with a chunky heel at Zappos and they were exactly what I had been looking for so I didn't even think twice when adding them to my online cart. I always knew the cyber world was taking over but now it's really becoming my WHOLE life! Not only does my job completely consist of online shopping, but I seriously don't even go to physical stores anymore. I completed my Christmas gift shopping today without even leaving my house and I even ordered my shampoo and lipsticks on Ulta's website this morning when I could have just drove 10 minutes down the road.
