Computer Chaos

Things have been a bit difficult over here considering my mini netbook computer screen cracked and now my main computer has a loose wire that makes my screen go black unless it's at an awkward angle ;( Rather annoying but until I get my computer fixed, I'm working with what I have. Sunday my friend Abe Robledo came over to film Monikapolitan (Episode 2.) Thanks for the comments you guys left on Episode 1 and congrats to commenter DeborahGomez15 on winning one of the items mentioned in the video! My little Elph

Hello my little unicorns! Sorry I haven't been updating as much this past week... I always miss blogging when I'm gone but right now things are getting so crayzeee with the Never Say Never Festival and school that I've had to put some things aside. I'm in a bit in hurry now getting ready for 2 birthday parties that I'm attending tonight, but I wanted to share my new camera with you guys before I left! I got my new Canon Powershot SD1400 "Digital Elph" in yesterday and so far I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I wanted a point and shoot camera for concerts and festivals since they don't usually allow professional cameras in the venues and this one was recommended to me by my friend Abe. The quality is better that I expected and I love that I can edit the colors of photos straight from the cam. I haven't played around with the HD video too much but here are a few shots that I've taken in the past 24 hours. Let me know what you guys think and FYI- The first 2 photos are not from my new one but from my professional cam, the new cam photos start after that with the shot of my grubby, dirty little pup Peter Kingston...

Steppin' it up

I've decided to start doing video episodes every other week or once a month to give you guys a better look at new arrivals from Monikapolitan.com. I am going to concentrate the videos on my personal favorites that arrive, but will have other related episodes as well. Eyeballs and Pastels

Mmmmm, I can smell the Spring season approaching. This time of year is always exciting for me because it means it's... sunglasses season! These past few weeks I've been stocking Monikapolitan.com up with sunglasses and clear lens glasses, because here in Texas sunglasses are a Spring Break essential! A lot of people have asked if I keep one of everything from my store, and the answer is kind of a NO, because my closet has too much in it already. However, I will admit that it wouldn't be normal to NOT keep some things and well, sorting through the store's sunglasses is one of my biggest weaknesses because I want to keep them all! My recent keepers were Monikapolitan.com's newest additions: the Rounded Clear Lens Glasses and the Glam Flat Top Sunglasses With Chain Strap. I'm already dreaming about using the Glam Flat tops at the NSN Festival and SXSW because taking them off and letting them dangle around my neck is going to be way better than stuffing them in my already crowded purse. I also just purchased a bunch of pastel colored nail polish. So far I have only tried the Sally Hansen pastel purple color and I am very satisfied with how long it has lasted. Usually my nail polish chips in a day but this color has survived a concert, the beach, tons of orders and 5 days so far.

Peekinon Picnics

Today was Valentine's Day and I've never really cared for that Holiday much because I don't want flowers, I don't need to be wined or dined and I definitely don't want a $39 giant stuffed bear from Wal-Mart. I do however, like to use this holiday to celebrate and let people know how much I appreciate and love them. Going on picnics has always been a favorite of mine, so we decided to use the awesome picnic basket I found at a thrift store in Austin and take my new bike to the beach. 3 Trays of H.E.B. Sushi, an 8 dollar bottle of wine and a beautiful blue sky later... I'd say it was a good day.

Outdoor Market- Hearts Edition

Whew, where do I begin!? I stayed up until 6am Friday night preparing and tagging items for the Saturday outdoor market event. I had a lot of new stuff that isn't available on the site yet, so it took longer than usual. Even though I was working on 2 and a half hours of sleep, yesterday's event was another great success! I know I've said this before, but I HAVE to say it again... Everyone is always SO kind and encouraging when they step inside the Mobile Boutique. It feels good to know that there are good people in my town who appreciate Monikapolitan. The next event is The Never Say Never Festival in March and will be 2 days long, I have fun activities planned for that one! Here are some photos from yesterday's Outdoor Market, I tried to give you a better look at the inside and even my pup Petey showed up! After the event, I went to see the Plain White T's.. I took a few photos that I will share later this week. Super thanks to everyone who supported, shopped or stopped by yesterday....
