Every time a new batch of clothing comes in for Monikapolitan.com, I love pulling my favorite pieces and convincing myself that I DO NOT need to keep one for myself. My current favorite is this Triangle Print Long Maxi Dress. It's soft, well fit, casual and perfect to throw on those days you don't know what to wear but definitely want to seem presentable. And then there's Petey, he gets really bored when I'm packaging orders and begs me to play with him with his beady little eyes...

I got a sense of time a few days ago and realized that i graduate with my Bachelors in Business Marketing in 3 months... LESS THAN 3 MONTHS realistically, and on my birthday! OMG, right? I know. Other than life realizations, I ordered some new stuff for my personal closet, as if I needed more in there. Some which includes these cute lace undies. I've also been trying to use my spare time purchasing new Monikapolitan inventory and adding it to the store. So far a few of my new favs are the iPhone cases, 60's inspired earrings and mustache double finger ring...
So I'm sure you've heard the news that everyone is all cray for the new 'Missoni for Target' line that launched online and in select stores today? I wasn't THAT crazy but I did go by my local target to checkout what was left... and it wasn't much, the store was wiped clean (aside from a few larger sizes in certain styles.) I don't feel like I ABSOLUTELY HAD TO have any of the pieces but I did REALLY enjoy the bike and if i didn't already have one, I would probably be one of those who waited in line before doors opened. I feel like I've seen very similar prints browsing through racks at Forever21, which is why i'm not too worried that I missed out. The prints are great and make my eyes happy and I really like the simplicity of their lookbook. I agree (with apparently the whole girl world,) that this is ONE of the best Target international collections up to date. I put a few items in my cart but then put them back when I found a bunch of cute bins and organizers for my room. I would have liked to have the make-up brush set but it wasn't available in this particular color below. None the less, these are some of my favorite styles that I would blow my money on if it came down to it....

I had an intense cleaning session in my closet and all for THIS chair. THIS is the chair I mentioned a few posts back, I found it at a vintage shop and it twists, turns & rocks. It's probably the best find of my life so making room for it wasn't a problem... my hundreds of pairs of shoes were. It's amazing how much unnecessary stuff a girl can accumulate and how much room I have in my closet now that my old junk is gone.
I guess our mothers are always right when they say "Everything happens for a reason." It just sucks waiting for that reason... and for those of you that don't know me personally, I'm a VERY impatient woman. So far, not moving to finish up college has had it's perks and has been beneficial for my future. I got to drop 1 out of the 8 classes that I thought I needed to graduate this semester so that was a load off my shoulders, whew! My college has been really supportive and I've been getting some great recognition and offers lately. Last week, on the Artwalk post, I mentioned I got interviewed by The Pan American (my college's student newspaper) and they actually used my segment! I posted the video below for you guys to take a look. I also posted a look at the NEW iPhone 4 hard cases that were added to Monikapolitan.com last night, they are already selling fast...
For those of you who have been following Monikapolitan way before our events went "mobile," you know that I got my start selling handmade items at the McAllen Artwalk every first Friday of the month. Well, now WE'RE BACK and although I wasn't as prepared as I wanted to be, we're READY TO ATTACK! Thanks to Doriz Studios, Monikapolitan's "Boutique on the go" had a cozy spot at this past Friday's Artwalk and we were definitely in for a surprise. First off, I was under the impression (my impression) that people wouldn't show up until the sun started going down because it was too damn hott anyway, right? ....WRONG! By 6:30 we had customers asking when they could walk in the boutique to shop and come 7pm, there was a line and multiple news cameras getting some action shots... it was awesome and would have been even better if I didn't underestimate the power of the Artwalk! Once I opened the doors, people flowed in non-stop until 10:30 and everyone was as excited as I would ever want them to be. I got a lot of questions, met a lot of new people, saw a lot of my friends and even got video interviewed by the Town Crier and my college, UTPA. The heat, sweating profusely and late start became worth it by the end of the night. Thanks to everyone who stopped by, especially those who purchased, to everyone who helped (like my awesome parents) and my friend Sylvia for adding her delightful handmade creations to the table. You can catch us there next month with more eye candy....
